Should I hire an Interior Designer?

Recently a colleague who was stuck with an awkward shaped kitchen asked me the question “Should I  hire and interior designer?” A good question indeed and often asked! If you are not sure about hiring an interior designer, I have included some reasons why you should.

Unique Look

I believe that the most important thing is that we are here to drag you out of your comfort zone. Our mission is to create a look that reflects entirely what you wanted, but perhaps with a slightly more unique and bespoke “look”. Otherwise, why employ us? Get the best out of us and our training….stretch our creativity. The result should be escaping the monotony of another lifeless home without a touch of ” The Stepford wives!”

Professional Interior Advice

Our training (in my case an architectural background) involves space planning, and a keen awareness of the positive impact that space, shape, form and colour can have on us!

Use our skill set, and we can bring something entirely different to the ” not so ordinary” table !!!

Save You Money

An interior designer can save you money in the long term. You can save money on expensive mistakes and impulse buys. An interior designer can think creatively on re-using items from different rooms. What about up-holstering a piece of furniture to give it a new lease of life and fit in with your new scheme? You will get the room design right the first time round instead of decorating again in a few years time.

Save You Time

You can save a lot of time. It takes a lot of time to research products and services. We all live busy lives and the look of your home is often not a priority for many busy people. This often gets pushed to the end of the ‘to-do’ list. But with working collaboratively with a designer, they can ease the pressure of getting stuff done and have some fun along the way. They will have their trusted contacts and a wealth of knowledge and information that you can take advantage of. So to answer the question, ‘ should I hire an interior designer?’ I would say YES if the budget allows.
